Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) was established in 1996 by the Government of Karnataka to regulate and promote higher education in health sciences throughout the state. The teaching hospital under Subbaiah Medical College is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), a statutory body governed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The MCI’s aim is to maintain high standards in medical education and ensure recognition of medical qualifications across India.
